Ultrasonic welding
joins plastics by rapidly transmitting ultrasonic energy through a shaped
tool or "horn". This ultrasonic energy, in the form of
mechanical vibrations, creates friction between the two plastic parts
which, in turn, generates heat to melt and permanently fuse the two parts
with one another. This technique is fast, efficient, and reliable.
|
The process
eliminates employee health risks and added costs associated with the use
of adhesives and solvents.
